During Brett’s youth many entertainers were using stage names like Ziggy Stardust and Elton John. While Brett was growing up his friends encouraged him to have a stage name too.
First it was “Bobby”, referring to Bobby Wier of the Grateful Dead, as he sang several Grateful Dead songs
They added “Cassidy”, refereeing to the song Cassidy By the Grateful Dead.
Then they added Credence as he sung Proud Mary by Credence Clearwater Revival. Later Brett changed the spelling to Creedance as in Cree Indians dancing to music.
So it evolved over time
Bobby
Bobby Cassidy
Bobby Cassidy Creedance
and a C was added to get to
Bobby C. Cassidy Creedance
This was shortened to
BCCC (Bee See See See)
Later in life, Brett Moved to Australia and it was pronounced
BCCC (Bee Tripple C)
and then
BCCC (Be Trip C)
Upon returning to Southern California, he re-branded to
Mackinga
